JDE 101 Training – A Long Overdue Solution!
I’ve been meaning to bestow accolades upon the team of JDE101 and more specifically to Andy Klee of JDEtips for his efforts in all things related to JD Edwards education. Like many of us old timers at Mitchell & Associates, Andy has been a JD Edwards evangelist for over 20 years.
Realizing there was a shortage of JD Edwards resources in the market place due to retirements, recession and lack of post-secondary training, Andy took it upon himself to initiate a training experience to fill this void in the market place. Having worked in the JD Edwards arena for over 20-years, I can attest to the lack of talented individuals in the pipeline ready to fill open JDE positions. Sadly, I’ve even had a few of my guys retire this year, although they are loving it.
For those who do not know, JDE101 is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating training and certification programs in Oracle’s JD Edwards (JDE) EnterpriseOne ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for college, university students and clients. Each Bootcamp will consist of two weeks of intense, hands on courses, taught by experienced JD Edwards consultants. At the end, the students acquire the basic knowledge needed to qualify for entry-level positions as business analysts or application consultants and enjoy a challenging and rewarding career.
JDE101 is a collective effort by all members of the JDE community—clients, business partners, and Oracle to help train the next generation of consultants and clients. Why not explore the JDE101 website to learn how you can participate. I know I plan on volunteering my time to help the next generation get started with the JD Edwards ERP Software Solution experience.
